%X Since its discovery in the 1890s, aspirin has become the most used drug worldwide (1). For decades, aspirin has been heralded for its use in the primary prevention of cardiovascular disease (CVD). More recently, the use of aspirin for primary prevention has become controversial, and subsequently, guidelines both in the United States and internationally have reflected this change.
