abstract = {In a recent study, Koo et al. (1) showed the association between non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) and systemic calcified atherosclerosis. Those investigators studied 4,185 patients from a community-based cohort evaluated for calcified atherosclerosis in eight different vascular beds, NAFLD was independently associated with calcification in the thoracic aorta and celiac trunk and also with multiarterial calcification (four or more evaluated arteries), even after adjustment for confounders.},
