ATM is the 5th journal of AME Publishing Company officially indexed in SCIE (Figure 2).
As a bridge between basic and clinical researches, translational medicine has been developed for more than a decade. It is currently faced with a number of challenges such as low efficiency in the translation of scientific research and the lack of driving force to push forward clinical practice. With an aim to expedite the translation of scientific discovery into new or improved standards of management and health outcomes practice, Annals of Translational Medicine (Ann Transl Med; ATM; Print ISSN 2305-5839; Online ISSN 2305-5847) was officially launched in 2013.
ATM is an open access journal adopting a rigorous peer-review system. Led by Prof. Jianxing He, the President of the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University, Prof. Xuehao Wang, the Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and Prof. Rafael Rosell, Catalan Institute of Oncology as the Editors-in-Chief, the journal is further supported by a strong lineup of over 140 leaders worldwide in the field of translational medicine as the Editorial Board members. At present, ATM is published biweekly and internationally (Figure 3).
ATM upholds AME’s philosophy and standards in running journals. We emphasize the internationalization of editorial board members, authors and reviewers (Figures 4 and 5), and we strictly monitor the quality of each published article. With an internationalized editorial board as a strong base, ATM further gains support from authors and reviewers from all over the world. It is with their joint efforts that high-quality publications are guaranteed. Therefore, we would like to take this opportunity to express our sincere gratitude for their continuous support to ATM.
To ATM, not simply does translational medicine mean bringing research outcomes to clinical practice, but a better change in the entire medical model, a renovated model that can lay the groundwork for future clinical development in terms of prediction, prevention, early intervention and individualized treatment of any disease.
Persistence is the key to success. Going through 5 years of endless hard work, ATM is officially indexed in SCIE, which is undoubtedly a monumental milestone. With our continuous effort, ATM will strive to become a top-tier publication that leads the development of translational medicine in new direction and establishes a bigger platform where multitudinous collaborations and academic exchanges would perpetually occur.
