Dr. Xiao Li, worked as a surgeon at the Department of Urology. Dr. Li graduated from seven-year clinical medicine of Nanjing Medical University, and completed his master degree in the First Affiliated Hospital of Nanjing Medical University. 

He undertook a long term study of urologic tumors in clinical and scientific research. His major research field is evidence-based medicine for clinical diagnosis, prognosis and treatment in urology, and basic scientific research and clinical research in urology. He hosts one Youth Fund project of National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) , one scientific research project of Jiangsu Health Planning Commission and three other projects. He won the two prize for New technology import Award in Jiangsu (rank second). 

He has published more than 40 SCI papers as first author, co-first author or corresponding author. The highest influence factor (IF) of a single paper is 9.619 (Clinical Cancer Research), while the total IF is over 110. He also published 10 articles on the Chinese journals, and three papers of them belong to Zhonghua series (as first author). Moreover, he trys to solve various clinical problems and owns 24 authorization patents (3 national invention patents, and 21 utility model patents). Additionally, he owns 4 software copyrights (all as first author). He participated in the compilation of 4 books and the translation of more than 50 books or special issues. 

In 2016, he participated in the SPIE PROSTATEx Challenge (hosted by International Society of Optical Engineering (SOIE), American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM) and National Cancer Institute (NCI)) and won the fourth place in 33 best artificial intelligence teams all around the world. 

He also acts as a Section Editor in journal of Annals and Translational Medicine, Translational Andrology and Urology, AME Medical Journal, and Journal of Medical Artificial intelligence. And he serves as the Chinese version translator of Journal of Clinical Oncology (JCO).
