
Qiong Zhan, MD, PhD
Attending physician, assistant researcher and graduate supervisor of the department of Neurology, The Second Xiangya Hospital, Central South University, Changsha, Hunan 410011, China
Dr. Zhan was born in Yiyang, Hunan province (China) on May 1st, 1986. She got her Bachelor's degree in Clinical Medicine in 2009 from the Medical School of Hunan Normal University. Then she finished the continuous academic programme that involves both postgraduate and doctoral study in Xiangya Hospital, Central South University and obtained her doctoral degree in 2015, specialized in Neurology. During this time, she also joined in a joint-PhD program which was financially supported by the CSC and spent two years at Dr. Hal Blumenfeld’s lab of Yale University from 2012 to 2014. She currently serves as an attending physician, an assistant researcher and also a graduate supervisor at the department of Neurology, The Second Xiangya Hospital, Central South University (China).
As regards the scientific activity, she has published more than 20 articles in peer-reviewed journals and is now a member of Neurology Committee of Hunan Medical Association, Epilepsy group. The main areas of research include clinical, physiological, genetical and biomarkers study in Epilepsy and acute cerebral vascular diseases.
