Dr. Lasho is an Assistant Professor of medicine in the College of Medicine, Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN. She completed her doctoral degree in biomedical sciences at Mayo Clinic Graduate School, after completing a bachelor degree in clinical chemistry at the University of Wyoming. Her research focus is centered on characterizing the role of signaling pathways and genetic alterations in chronic myeloid malignancies (CMDs) using clinical, translational, and molecular approaches.
Dr. Lasho has played a crucial role in a variety of key publications which have significantly advanced the understanding of the pathogenesis of MDS/MPNs. She has led several large-scale genomic studies which resulted in the identification of several relevant novel mutations. To date, she has authored/co-authored 155 peer-reviewed journal articles (350 publications in total), all involving MPN research. Dr. Lasho has been an international invited guest speaker on MDS/MPNs, and her work has helped to define current prognostic working models for this group of diseases.
