Non-invasive vascular screening test to diagnose peripheral vascular disease
Abstract
One of the biggest unmet needs in diabetic limb salvage is an effective tool to identify peripheral arterial disease (PAD) in diabetic foot ulcers to predict wound healing and amputation level survival. PAD in diabetes is characterized by multiple segmental occlusions below the trifurcation and microvascular disease. Many methods have been used to assess PAD but there is not a consensus (1,2) regarding the best method.
