Revisiting AJCC TNM staging for renal cell carcinoma: quest for improvement
Abstract
Cancer staging is the process of determining the magnitude of the primary tumor and extent of its spread. It predicts prognosis, guides management and treatment decisions including enrollment in clinical trials, and helps formulate follow-up and surveillance plans.
