Liver disease is one of the most common causes of death worldwide. Nowadays, there is a great advance in the field regarding management of liver diseases. Since August 2018, Prof. Nahum Méndez-Sánchez, a world famous hepatologist who works at the Liver Research Unit of the Medica Sur Clinic & Foundation in Mexico City, has launched the Liver News column in the ATM journal to disseminate the latest knowledge and understanding in this field. In this column, the most recent research findings that are of great interest to the readers will be selected and briefly discussed by well-known hepatologists. The publication charge will be waived for all invited commentary in this column.
