With an estimated 567,233 new cases in 2018, thyroid cancer ranks as the ninth most common form of cancer, and accounts for 3.1% of all new cancer cases worldwide. This special series provides the latest information on the conceptual, translational, and clinical advances in the field of thyroid cancer research with a focus on precision medicine.
